Glenmar Shellfish has been serving the fishing industry for now over thirty years, and over the last three years particularly Glenmar Shellfish has modernized its approach towards the buying, production and selling to adjust to the rapidly changing face of the fishing industry. Our production needs are fully catered by HACCP, modern factory in Kilmore Quay, and with full traceability and serviced by the nearby accredited cold store.  With the advent of the various CO-OP closures, Glenmar is now responsible for servicing, handling and processing of twenty five vessels directly.

 

   The fresh fish and fresh prawns are packed and graded at our modern facility in Union Hall West Cork, where our head office is situated. The prawns are then dispatched to Kilmore Quay for immediate processing under our instructions.

   Our new Product prawn range now includes fresh prawns being shipped twice weekly to Europe, new range of frozen for fresh using only day caught prawns and with this we have four vessels landing directly prawns frozen at sea to us. These landings are including from the south Irish Sea and the Porpupine bank, are frozen for fresh also includes the North Irish Sea prawns.  Glenmar Shellfish produces peeled dried and glazed scampi meat.

   Along with this Glenmar Shellfish imports a wide range of products from South Africa, to include hake fillets, frozen at sea squid, frozen at sea monk fish tails, John Dory fillets, Ray and Pink Prawn. Our sales for Italy are conducted from Omnia Brokers “Italy as per contact details” all other sales for the rest of Europe are conducted from our main office in Union Hall West Cork, by Diarmuid O’ Donovan.
